Chris MarrThe World's Greatest Tele Movie Ever (The Documentary of)
Winter, 2008
The Hairy Doughnuts first attempt at a documentary follows one mans quest to create the greatest tele movie ever . Chris takes on the role of director, while Jason is the talent. The story attempts to poke fun at the lengths we will go through to try and make great tele movies and how not all our ideas make sense in a tele movie. Unlike our last couple of movies, no fancy special effects or graphics were needed, just a camera and a location. Both the axe and avalanche scenes are favorites of the Hairy Doughnut crew, and were some of the most fun to shoot. The avalanche scene was shot in a back yard in Wisconsin, while the rest of the movie was shot in the UP of Michigan. Good weather conditions made for great snow and no wind which makes for a nice effect. Just as a side note, the axe scene had very specific lines which Chris forgot and Scott's improvising made for a better scene in the end. Nothing makes a tele movie like axes!
